About
Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) has been functional in the college since 2013 to inculcate entrepreneurial orientation among students through formal and non- formal programs.
IEDC also aims to enhance analytical skills and general awareness of students and to promote skills of interaction in groups and leadership styles through conducting workshops on entrepreneurial development.
IEDC at RIST was inaugurated by Mr. Christo George, Chairman and MD, Hykon Group of Companies on 20/12/2013.District Industries Centre Palakkad, Government of Kerala issued a certificate of registration for Entrepreneurship Development Club of Ammini College of Engineering with Reg. No:EDC/PKD/17/2015.
Later, Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) accorded sanction to the IEDC of RIST starting from 2015.
KSUM has provided a fund of Rs. 200000 towards Startup Boot Camp for the Entrepreneurship
activities.
Functions
The Innovation & Entrepreneurship club is created to assist students enrolled in it and all others interested in starting their own business. The club will allow students to engage in discussions with other students having similar interests. They will be able to collaborate and brainstorm together, as well as get feedback on business proposals and plans.
- To inculcate entrepreneurial orientation among students through formal and non-formal programs.
- To enhance interpersonal and leadership skills by organizing workshops, invited lectures, project exhibitions etc.
- To create, inspire and empower a young generation of self-reliant individuals.
- To take them a step ahead for the development of the nation by developing an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset. The value added by this course will surely bring quality and innovation to the students.
Achievements
- Vishnu. V of Mechanical Department attended the program and presented an innovative product in the Makers Workshop, organized by Kerala Technological University in association with FISAT on October 22, 2016.
- Sudog: Motion controlled stray dog repellent system.
- New innovative laboratory in Internet of Things (IoT) and named as IoT Lab established.
- 20 plus Informative Talks and workshops have been conducted till now and many more were attended by students and faculty members at different venues.
