Central Library

RIST Library established in the year August 2010, has been an integral part of academic endeavour in the college. The objective of the College library is to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for researchers, the faculty and the student community. The library has to its credit more than 7000 volumes in various branches of Engineering and Sciences. There are also plenty of volumes dealing with Social Sciences and Literature. Reputed National and International Journals are also subscribed to provide latest information on the various subjects of study. A good collection of around 600 CD-ROMs are maintained as part of the digital library and a good number of Online Journals can be accessed through ASTM Digital Library Online and IEEE. The Central Library is complement with different department libraries which contain the core collection required by the concerned department. The library is kept open from 8.30am to 6.00pm on working days and is also made available to students during public holidays. The entire library block is well equipped with proper lighting and seating arrangements so that an excellent ambience is created for the readers to utilize the library facilities.

Library Computerization

The Central Library has been fully automated with Book Magic Library software package which is an integrated multi-user library management system. Online Book Magic library is connected to LAN, which enables the members to check the status of books in the library from anywhere in the campus. Open the Browser and type URL http://server2/onlinebookmagic/ for accessing the Online Book Magic.

Bar Code-based Circulation System

Bar code facility has been introduced for easy access of all library services like Circulation, Acquisition, Cataloguing and OPAC. The Online Book Magic facilitates easy usage and access of the Central Library details from anywhere in the campus. Smart cards are used for library transactions (Check in / Checkout and Issue / Return / Renewal).

Reprographic centre

The reprographic centre is attached with the Central Library. Users can take the photocopies of the reference books and journals from this section.

Research and Reference Services

A separate section is maintained for reference .Costly and multiple copied books are available in this section.

DIGITAL LIBRARY

The Digital library has been established in Central Library premises with effective online databases, e-journals, e-books etc. It has got a rich collection of over 600 educational CDs which covers varied technology aspects in all related disciplines and in turn fine tunes the engineering concepts in students. The digital library enables the students to collect information from internet and other reliable sources. This facility can be accessed only during institutional working hours from anywhere in the campus. The library has also subscribed to e-resources through the ASTM Digital Library Online, IEEE, and J gate. The existing digital library is supported with 12 PCs with hi-speed Internet connectivity.
