Mechanical Engineering department at RIST offers a B.Tech programme in Mechanical Engineering.Established in 2010 with an intake of 90, Mechanical Engineering department has been rated high among other engineering disciplines under APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU).Right from its inception in 2010, the department has been focusing on high-quality teaching along with integrated laboratory experience. Its strong and interactive curriculum and hands-on learning will make the students capable of taking their career to the next level, whether it be in the professional engineering practice or in advanced studies. The objective of this programme is to mould the students having theoretical background to be an engineer with exposure to industrial environment. The four year course includes visit to different industries, orientation towards industrial practices and a comprehensive skill development programme.

The department has provided excellent infrastructure and state of the art facilities that comprise of seminar & drawing halls, department library and well-equipped laboratories which include Fluid mechanics and Hydraulic Machines lab, IC Engines Lab, Machine Shop, CAD Lab, Mechanical Engineering Lab, Thermal Engineering lab and Basic Workshop.

The department has a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty.

We, at the department of mechanical engineering endeavor to offer our students, the state of the art resources and facilities. The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2010. The department offers undergraduate programme in Mechanical Engineering with intake strength of 90 students per year now. The department provides its students an environment that stimulates their intellectual growth and personality development.

The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty members. The faculty members actively engage in research and publish papers in international and National journals. Training programs are conducted for the B. Tech. students throughout the course of their study by the Placement and Training Cell of our college and prepares them for a smooth transition from academia to the industry. Our students have secured very good results in the University examinations. The department strives for all round excellence of students by encouraging them to take part in all extra- curricular activities.
