Physical Education
The department of physical education had existed right from the inception of RIST Palakkad in 2010. RIST has been paying equal importance to Physical Education sports and games right from its inception. Ample facilities are provided to play all the major games. Under the able guidance of specialised coaches in all the games, the players are given exposure to tournaments at various levels.

- College Cricket Team secured runners-up position in Summer Fest Cricket Tournament 2020 held at GEC Palakkad
- College Football Team secured 4th position in the KTU E Zone Football Tournament 2019 held at Vidya Academy of Science & Technology Thrissur
- Shijoy Krishna of S7EEE was selected to participate in the University Football Team selection trials held at TKM College of Engineering Kollam
- Vishnu T P of S3 Civil was selected to participate in the University Cricket Team selection trials held at Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology
- College Volleyball Team Secured 3rd position in the PECSAGA Volleyball Tournament held at Malabar College of Engineering & Technology Thrissur on 17th February 2018.
- Vishnu M of S8 CE was awarded the Player of the Tournament in the PECSAGA Volleyball Tournament held at Malabar College of Engineering & Technology Thrissur on 17th February 2018.
- Aparna P of S5 ECE qualified for KTU Inter Zone Chess Tournament and participated for the same held at College of Engineering Trivandrum on 05th and 06th October 2018.
- Aparna P of S3 ECE qualified for KTU Inter Zone Chess Tournament and participated for the same held at GEC Thrissur on 14th and 15th October 2017.
